Benefits And Pay
As an Arise Certified Professional (ACP), you have the ability to choose your own hours, your own clients, and be your own boss. Since you will be working in an environment of your choosing (most commonly your home), you can take your job with you no matter your location. The rate of pay varies based on the client, call volume, and time of day, but you can expect to make $9.00 – $16.00/hour, plus client and VSC provided incentives.
Costs
An Arise Certified Professional is a subcontractor through The Official Magazine and is responsible for the costs associated with providing a computer, high-speed internet, landline telephone, client trainings, and taxes. The Official Magazine does not withhold any taxes from your pay, but we help you through the confusing maze of tax regulations for self-employed individuals. We do require a background check, which must be paid for upfront and costs approximately $12.95.
Schedule
As an ACP you choose your own hours. The schedule becomes available every week on a specific date and time (varies by client). When hours become available you can schedule blocks of time in 30 minute increments to work. Each client has a minimum amount of time each week (15-20 hours) and some clients have mandatory weekend hours (typically 5). These requirements are fully disclosed as part of the selection process for each client and are provided to you in writing.

The Official Magazine is Looking for interns
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: An unpaid internship with the The Official Magazine allows students to get professional experience and build your writing portfolio. Internships are flexible around your school schedule and are available throughout the year. If you are interested in completing your internship for credit, please see your Department Internship Advisor for details.
Writing Internship
Writers delivers editorial content to readers through its national online magazine, The magazine publishes profiles of artist, small businesses, authors, notable individuals, practical how-to articles, financial tips, and deals and savings news.
The responsibilities of a Writing intern include:
- conducting research related to the maintenance of our online databases
- conducting research for select articles and for the Resources section of the website
- proofreading and fact-checking articles
- other administrative duties, including filing, organizing the office library, and updating internal documents.
